Wine Folly
This wine had almost all of the traditional merlot tasting notes listed on page 131 of Wine Folly. I didn't get dried herbs on this wine but everything else, especially plum, were present.
Personal Review
The smell of this wine was dominated by plum, and some red fruit like cherry or strawberry. The flavor had these notes as well, but it branched out into some smoky chocolate and vanilla notes. This wine encapsulates most of the characteristic flavors of merlot. It doesn't do too much to set itself apart from other merlots, but it delivers well on everything I usually expect from a merlot.
